Case Study 6
A small gift sent to Australia that did not arrive.
This was sent from New Zealand via Registered Post to Helensvale, Queensland, Australia. The gift was for a friends birthday. A month elapsed since sending and as I had not heard form my friends I telephoned them to see how the birthday went.
Unfortunately, they advised the gift had not arrived. I was upset at this and endeavored to find the tracking receipt. Given the time that had passed I was unable to find it. I made enquiries to the delivery company although as it had passed into Australian hands I was advised of a different overseas telephone number to call. This proved fruitless.
The end result was I was stressed and unhappy because the gift and wishes had missed my friends birthday. Separately, the money I had spent on the gift, card and registering the item for delivery was lost.
Had I used the SendReceived service:
- The Receivers would have been warned of the pending delivery
- The Receivers would have been automatically requested for confirmation of delivery immediately the ETA had passed.
- As the Sender I would have been automatically prompted after the ETA of non confirmation. This means I could have taken further action including following up on the tracking number (details are entered into the system). Plus I could have sent another gift to arrive in time if deemed necessary.
- Telephoned my friend to wish a Happy Birthday.
- Using the SendReceived service demonstrates you care!
- Helps build friendships...
